No Compromise::21 Day Fast

I don’t normally do this, but God has really laid a burden on my heart recently. In preparation for No Compromise this year, He has really challenged me like never before. As youth pastors, we know better than anyone of what this generation is facing. We can see what they are battling. We also know what we are facing in trying to reach, minister and disciple them. The Lord dropped this in my spirit about a week after the intensive in January. He challenged me with the name of the conference He gave me, Dream Big. He asked me what I wanted to see. As I told Him how I wanted the students to encounter Him in an overwhelming way, I wanted them to experience what I experienced as a young teen. I want to see them pinned to the floor. I want to see them weeping in His presence. But most of all, I want to see them burning for the rest of their lives. He replied with, “To the degree that you pursue will determine the degree that I respond”. He told me to fast (probably because I am terrible at it). He also told me to create a movement of prayer and fasting for the conference. I am sharing this with our leadership team and I ask that you partner with me and also share this with your leaders and any student who you feel would step up to the challenge. I am believing for this to be the greatest gathering that any of us have ever attended.

As far as the fasting is concerned, I would never place requirements on anyone as to how to fast and when. Whether it’s one meal a day or a total fast for that day; however, you can and feel led to participate will be greatly appreciated. The Lord reminded me of a conversation I had a few years ago with Bro. David Hogan. He told me that if I wanted to see God do something greater than I had experienced at a certain event; that I needed to get as many people who were invested in the event to fast for at least 21 days. So, I have marked off 21 days of fasting between now and No Compromise. I am sending out these dates in order to give us a unified schedule to work around. If you need to switch dates for any reason, feel free to do so. I may need to switch a couple around myself. Ultimately, I believe that if the youth pastors and youth leaders of a region can unite in prayer and fasting; GOD WILL SUPERCEDE ALL OUR EXPECTATIONS. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for serving this generation!

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to His power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen”. Ephesians 3:20
