Worship Encouragement- Nashville Numbering System

NASHVILLE NUMBERING SYSTEM

Recently, CCLI added number charts to their music library. The Nashville Numbering System is a commonly used tool among the worship community. It is helpful for quickly transposing keys or communicating the chords when you add a song that isn’t in your setlist. When you find yourself wanting to change the key mid-practice because your voice is struggling or it would make flowing into another song easier, you won’t have to run to the church office and print out new music for everyone if your musicians know the numbering system. Since CCLI added the number charts, it makes it easier for teams to start learning how to use the system. Start writing the numbers on your chord chart and practicing with it.
