I’m certainly glad to see the year 2020 come to an end. This has to have been one of the most challenging years of all our lives. As I was praying for the New Year, I asked the Lord for a word for 2021. The Holy Spirit took me to Exodus 14:15: “Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.”
The word of the Lord for next year is GO FORWARD. The people were hard pressed with the enemy at their heels and were crying out in the face of despair. God’s answer: Go forward, step out, and see God’s great deliverance.
I refuse to live in the past, and I am not going back to Egypt and submitting to another Pharaoh. Stop living out of fear and step out in faith. As we step out, we will get divine direction, and God will be glorified.
“As for you, lift up your staff and reach out with your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall go through the midst of the sea on dry land.” Exodus 14:16
“But at the morning watch, the Lord looked down on the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud and brought the army of the Egyptians into confusion. He caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians each said, “Let me flee from Israel, for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians. Exodus 14:24-25
The enemy was in complete disarray and confusion because the Lord was fighting on behalf of His people. They never saw Pharaoh or his army again. Yesterday’s battles are over, and I am not going to keep fighting the same battles over and over again. The word of the Lord is get up, step out, and go forward.
