Getting Unstuck

Updated: Apr 3, 2019

Getting Unstuck by Pastor Keith Hodges Many times as leaders, we are spinning our wheels. We have our foot on the accelerator, but we aren’t going anywhere. Ecclesiastes 10:10 If the ax is dull and one does not sharpen the edge, he must use more strength, but wisdom brings success. We can work harder, and yet never actually move forward in what God has called us to do. If you are not learning, you are not growing. If you are not growing, you are not advancing. If you are not advancing, then you are stuck. How do we get unstuck? We have to take our foot off the accelerator. We have to stop doing and start learning.

Three Things Leaders Need to Put in the Schedule to Begin to Grow 1. Schedule time to read books above and beyond sermon preparation. Read books in the areas where you are stuck. 2. Schedule time to listen to teaching, coaching, training, podcasts, and read blogs. We need to be listening and learning from the people who are ahead of us. 3. Schedule time to attend conferences and get personal mentorship. Get around people who are ahead of you, and put yourself in a position where they can speak into your life. As leaders, we need to be on purpose to keep our ax sharp. When we sharpen our ax on purpose, we get wisdom, get unstuck, and advance the Kingdom.
